For me, I think I am most free when I am standing in front of the ocean. It frees me, it fascinates me, it amazes me, it terrifies me with its power. I feel closest to God when I stand by the ocean.
I almost want to cry when I think about its awesome power. The life beneath it. Even going out on the pier scares me for what I might see below! A whole other world.
It truly soothes the soul. It clears your mind, (your sinuses too!) and the sand scrubs you clean and makes you a blank canvas. I feel totally different by the sea.
I have many things in our home to remind me of the sea. Heck, I have a whole guest room called 'The Beach Room" complete with normal looking bedding with just a palm tree pillow but ah-ha! I got it at a Target by the ocean. I walk in there, and its bright yellow color reminds me of our condo we visit at the ocean. (see that post, here.) But we have things all over that remind us of our lovely trips, and the time we spend unwinding by the sea.

This saying is on my favorite beach towel. My towel says, "By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea! Oh how happy we'd be!
My cup on my desk at home. "Listen to the Waves".
These are in the shower room in my bathroom.
In the front portion of my bathroom.
In my guest room. "The sea is as near as we come to another world."
Guest room also!
YES.

I totally understand what you mean, I crave water, like the feeling of it. I love swimming and the feeling of being underwater all your cares just float away, sometimes if I can't get to a pool I'll actually stand under a cold shower for a long time, weird right lol I think I was a mermaid in a past life. - Sam
Sometimes I feel the same!
